I've worked with a Richmond VA based Rock band called Against Grace on many projects. Everything from CD Covers (pictured) to T-Shirt designs (also on my website). This CD design was for their EP release, "Shout It Out". The imagery and feel was reference back to old home-grown speaker soundsystems that artists would use to put on their own concerts. Against Grace had already developed their logo, but the rest of the imagery was up to me. (a) Front, (b) Back with CD detail. Please feel free to visit Against Grace's Website to see more.
This was a promo T-Shirt design for the band Against grace. The concept was to combine older audio technology with the chaotic nature of rock music. The shirt was released at a concert along with their new EP CD release.
As the main marketing designer for Acorn Sign Graphics, I was charged with the task of creating a promotional piece that could be easily mailed or given to clients. This was also a tool for salesmen to show a brief portfolio of some of the company's featured work.
The Cary St Gym was one of the original sports facilities on the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Campus. In 2007, it began extensive rennovations and ultimately was updated to match VCU's growing need for a new gym space. I was given the task to create a new logo and the commemorative shirt. I used the classic form of the historic building as a basis for the logo. 7500 of these shirts were printed and distributed to the VCU Students.
I was inspired heavily by Univers and Franklin Gothic's condensed type faces, and decided to make a display face. Ideally the font was intended for Soccer players's last names on their jerseys. Created in Fontlab Studio.
This extensive icon system was a project for the USGBC to supplement their LEED Green Building rating system. The goal was to capture the technical nature of each category, and develop a friendly and easily understandable iconic representation. As of 2012, there are over 300 icons, with plans for more. This system was featured on the likes of Yahoo! News and a multitude of other green related websites.
The Outdoor Adventure Program is known around the VCU Campus for its exciting variety of rugged activities. (a)I created the signage for their outing rental center where students can borrow assorted equipment. Additionally, I Frequently designed posters for their long excursions (b) and popular monthly events (c).
Rec Sports is the premiere way for VCU Students to stay healthy with a wide range of programs and facilities. I frequently managed projects from concept to final product. Everything from collaging photography to modeling and rendering scenes in Cinema 4D. I was promoted to Graphic Design Supervisor in May of 2008. Please feel free to visit Rec Sport's flickr account to see both more of my work.
